Lista dzieł filmowych Biblioteki Kongresu Stanów Zjednoczonych, jak co roku, powiększyła się o kolejnych 25 pozycji. Wśród klasyki kina znalazł się pierwszy w historii teledysk - stworzony przez Johna Landisa videoklip do piosenki Michaela Jacksona Thriller.

Za "dobro narodowe" uznane zostały także Pieskie popołudnie Sidneya Lumeta i Pewnego razu na Dzikim Zachodzie Sergio Leone.
